Hunger is much more widespread than people realize. One out of every ten residents in the Washington, DC metropolitan region is food insecure – and nearly 30% of them are children.
Hunger and food insecurity is a reality many families live with in our nation’s capital. Families are forced to choose between providing food and other essentials to their families. We want to change that.
Cease Hunger Inc., is an IRS certified 501(c)(3), non-profit organization with a mission to help feed the hungry within our local community. Cease Hunger solely operates on donations from individuals, community partners and other charitable organizations as well as food contributions from its restaurant and food bank partners. We also collect surplus food from local businesses and individuals or organizations post events and surplus produce from local farmers in order to eliminate food waste and get it in the hands of those in need.
